Medical Information
We endeavour to encourage all students to take control of their own condition and will assist to make this possible.
- We store medication in a secure locked cabinet in the main office and will administer as appropriate at the request of parents/carers. This is easily accessible and first aiders are always available including lunchtime to issue medication.
- Parents/carers are responsible in ensuring that all medication including EpiPens, inhalers and spare diabetes supplies is always in date.
- Parents /carers are responsible in ensuring that all contact and emergency numbers are up to date.
- All students must carry with them at all times their emergency medication (including EpiPen, diabetes supplies and inhaler). This includes for all sport and off‐site activities. It is recommended that a spare one is kept in the main office for spare/emergency use.
- All medication must be in the original container (except insulin). We cannot accept blister packs unless in the original box. All medication must have the container/box labelled with the student’s name.
- A maximum of 8 weeks supply can only be brought to school at any one time.
- All medication to be collected at the end of each term. If your son/daughter is to collect the medication, they must bring a note giving permission. All medication not collected will be taken to a local pharmacy to be safely destroyed.
- At the bottom of this page is a form to be completed and handed in with the medication.
- No pupil to be sent home if ill unless collected by a responsible adult.
